brand new hp w/ preloaded software i want to keep.
how do i partion the hard drive w/out losing anything or
really hating my new computer afterwords?
right now, everything seems to be working fine even
though sp1 installed itself on startup, also 10 or 12
hotfixes self installed. i used to (years) know a little
about this stuff, but have been depending on my son for 4
or 5 years. now i feel totally out of the loop. please
help, or point me in the right direction. thanks

The only way you can create, delete, resize or merge existing =
partitions,
and not harm your existing Windows XP installation, is to use
a third-party partitioning program such as Partition Magic 8
(www.powerquest.com).
