Everytime XP starts up it pauses early in the boot
sequence and requires the Del key to be hit to continue.
How do I remove this pause?

Hi, George.
How "early in the boot sequence"? Before or after WinXP starts to load?
Depending on your hardware, there may be a pause while your BIOS is
detecting hard drives or other devices. If so, this has nothing to do with
WinXP.
If it is after WinXP starts loading, is it before or after you enter your
password? Before or after "loading your settings" and the little music
sounds? Before or after your desktop appears? Etc.?

XP is not causing that delay. You have a problem in your computer bios. It
sure would help if you thought to type any error messages you get!
Again, it's NOT Windows XP!
