I have an Asus A7N8x deluxe mobo (1.x ver) running the
1004 bios revision. I've got a 2800 barton, 1 gb pc 3200
ram, 200 gig hard drive, radeon 9500 pro. I also have
installed a Sound Blaster Audigy 2. When I built this
computer both gameports worked. (the standard mobo one
and the converted firewire one on the audigy). But, when
I had to reformat yesterday and got everything back up
and running properly I checked my device manager to make
sure all devices checked out okay. I found the yellow
exclamation point next to the Creative Game Port under
sound, video and gaming controllers. When I right click
and hit properties it tells me this exactly:
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can
use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable
one of the other devices on this system.
Important to note here that it does not specify a type of
resource that it cannot find, just free resources. I try
clicking on the resource tab and cannot do any
reconfiguring of it because there are no options. It
just says exactly:
Resource settings:
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can
use.
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable
one of the other devices on this system.
I know that this isn't the case because both have worked
in conjunction with each other before. I've always had
both the onboard audio of my mobo and my creative sound
card enabled at the same time without a problem. I'm
also using the latest 2.45 nforce drivers. Could someone
please tell me what could have changed and what to do to
fix this?
Thanks.
