I recently tried to use System Restore to go back to a
previous state and after it went through all the motions
of doing the restore, including rebooting, it said that it
was unable to restore the system. I tried several other
restore points and they didn't work either.
When I checked the System log in Event Viewer, I noticed a
System Restore error message that occurs every time I
start the machine. The message reads "The System Restore
filter encountered the unexpected error '0xC0000001' while
processing the file '' on the volume 'HarddiskVolume1'. It
has stopped monitoring the volume."
I have tried turning System Restore off and then back on
again but this didn't fix it. Can anyone tell me what the
problem is and how to correct it?
Thanks very much,
Doug
