Your problem is, you are trying to format the C; drive
while xp is still using it - hence the error message. You
cannot do it.
Now to formatting. Insert your Windows XP CD into your
CD_ROM and reboot your computer. As your pc is a new one
it should be set up to boot from a cd rom.
When you reboot your pc windows xp will begin to install.
Files will be copied to your memory first. The next stage
will be when XP checks for another version of XP on your
PC. Obviously it will find one. At the welcome to setup
screen you will be given two options.

1/ Repair
2/ Install New Version

Choose to install a new version and then press Enter. You
will next be asked what drive/partition you wish to
install Windows to. Select your C: Drive and again press
Enter. The next screen asks you if you want to format
your drive first. Select either Fat32 or Ntfs file system
(choose the normal format option, not the 'quick' one)
and again press Enter. Your drive will now format. After
the drive has formatted Windows XP will continue to
install on your pc.
Finally once XP has been installed you will need to
install yourIntelli Type software. Your keyboard will
work without this software because XP will put its own
keyboard driver on, but it is always best to have the
latest driver installed.
You may also need your driver software for your modem.

If you have any problems/queries don't be afraid to
contact me direct and i will attempt to guide you through
the process.

Hope this helps
