I, too, get occassional runtime error pop-ups that ask me
if I want to debug. Once I tried debugging and ended up
rebooting the system. The most recent popped up when I
entered the microsoft.com site. What are they, why does
one get them, and what do you do about them?
Thanking anyone who will advise.
P.S. I've already checked the windowsxptutor.com with no
success.

As a general rule, they're harmless. They can refer to a missing control
(text box, button, etc.) on a web page, that a particular piece of script is
looking for. In Internet Explorer go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced.
Check Disable Script Debugging and uncheck Display a notification about
every script error.

Hi Carol,
Control Panel/Internet Options/Advanced tab
Uncheck "display a notification about every script error"
Check "disable script debugging"
