How can I make my computer boot off of my CD-Rom drive? I
am running Windows XP home and I want my CD-Rom to run
off of start up.

You'll need to go into your bios and change the boot order so that the CDRom
comes before your hard drive.

Once you have done that, so long as your hardware supports booting up off
the CDROM, if you have a cd that is bootable, your computer will boot off
that rather than the hard drive.

You need to check your computer's manual for instructions on how to access
the BIOS to enable this feature. For some systems, right during the POST
you can press the ESC key and you will be offered a choice of which device
to boot from. This is a one time choice.

a few ppl have asked that, heres a copy and paste
when you turn the computer on hold the Delete button till the BIOS control
screen appears.
choose the option thats called Primary BIOS functions or something like it.
select Primary Boot Device and choose CDROM.
press Esc to return to main bios page then choose Save and Exit, which will
restart the computer.
as the computer restarts it will show Boot from cdrom, then prompt you to
boot from cdrom by pressing enter or spacebar..
this boots from the xp cd instead of your HD and will ask several questions
on what you want to do.
to reinstall windows its easiest to delete the existing partion then create
a new partition to install xp onto.
beware as this will erase all data on your hard drive.
once xp has installed restart, enter the bios again, change primary boot
device back to HDD-0 and save and exit

hope thats what you needed.
