new components

Hi!

I had a power surge and had to get a new motherboard, CPU
and power supply. Now my XP won't run (i get to the
screen that lets you choose "safe mode" etc). I have
heard thatif you change more than 3 components in your
machine XP won't run. Is this true and if so -what can i
do about it?

You have to run a _install repair_ on the machine. Not
the _recovery repair_. Then do the updates.
