Did you actually go to the site? It is a front for the company that sell
WindowBlinds.

And that would be why I prefer shades.

I wasn't aware that Nullsoft sells WindowBlinds. People who use Windows
tend to like to change things like their icons or visual styles or the skin
on their MP3 player. The contest is supported/sponsored by ATI, nVidia,
Microsoft, Microangelo, amongst others.
All the downloads are free. In fact, I don't think there's anything there
you can even buy.

Lets say it is. You have a big giant commercial for your site in your tag
line in EVERY post you write!
At least the GUI Olympics is relevant to people here - it's contest to see
who can do the coolest stuff with Windows that happens every 2 to 4 years.

My site is commercial free. It looks to me that the only reason for the GUI
Olympics site is to show advertising.

Tell me more about thsi "window shades." The only thing I could find
with that name was a pop-up blocker.

It's something that blocks light from coming in through your window. ;-)

Uh, first, the GUI Olympics is a contest for skins, icons, and winamp skins.
Second, Window shades has nothing to do with WindowBlinds.
