upon boot, desktop starts loading, gets through
most "startup" items, and then lags horribly for about a
minute. i don't have any internet access during this
time, and many basic functions (windows explorer, my
computer, etc) do not function. after about a minute to a
minute and a half, i get an error message "a service or
driver failed to start". i check the event viewer and
this message shows up "DCOM got error "The service cannot
be started, either because it is disabled or because it
has no enabled devices associated with it. " attempting
to start the service upnphost with arguments "" in order
to run the server:
{204810B9-73B2-11D4-BF42-00B0D0118B56}"

does anyone have a clue what causes this and how to get
rid of it? it appears to be either a driver or service...
but i cannot figure it out!
Thanks! :)

Any advise given is my attempt to show appreciation for all
the excellent help I've received here but I'm no MVP so it
may only apply NUGS (Normally, Usually, Generally, Sometimes :)
