I recently purchased a Toshiba laptop, which came with XP
home edition SP1, but when I upgrade to XP professional I
loose my modem connectivity, meaning that in Device
Manager the modem is still there and when I run diagnose
tool to query the modem, it comes back fine. But when I
try to configure a dial up, it says that there is no
modem connected.

Do you have an answer to this problem?

Please advice

Thank You

Have you tried deleting the modem, rebooting and letting XP redetect it and
then trying to configure your dialup?

Have you checked for updated drivers for your modem?
