is there a way to make NS 4.8 the default mail / news application PER USER
on Windows XP rather than for all users? I prefer NS 4.8 while the wife
prefers OE.

No.
And why the **** did you set the followup to groups that don't exist on

While logged on under her profile, open Control Panel and go into Internet
Options. On the Programs tab, you can select the default mail program.
(Netscape should have registered itself into this list of available
applications, although I haven't used Netscape in quite a while so I'm not
sure if it does.)

Hi Colin,

Last I knew, the default client setting was system-wide, and not
configurable on a per-user basis.
