I have a P3 500mhx. Running Windows XP Pro. It has a ultra 66 controller
card in it now with a 18GB hard drive connected to it. The 18GB drive is
partitioned C: & D:. I would like to put a maxtor 200GB in this system. It
comes with a ultra 133 controller.
Here is what i want to do: I would like to partition the 200GB drive to
100GB, 60GB & 40GB, then ghost the old 18GB C: partiontion to the 100GB
partition and the D: partion to the 60GB partition.
So the main question is can i add the 200GB to the ultra 66 control and
partition is and ghost it as the slave. then remove the 200GB drive for the
time being and boot into window xp like normal and add the ultra 133
controll to my system with the ultra 66 control in so i can still boot.
once the ultra 133 controller is configures in windows xp can i shut down
and take the ultra 66 card out and plug in the 200GB hard drive to the 133
and boot into windows?
One more thing, can i take the 18GB hard drive and make it a slave and plug
it on the same cable as the 200GB? Any help or web sites would be great.
thanks.
