XP Pro and CD/DVD drive

After I compressed my drive neither my DVD drive nor my CD-
ROM drive is recognized by the operating system. When my
system boots both drives are displayed by the BIOS but
when XP Pro starts the drives can't be accessed by any
programs or Windows Explorer.

HELP!!!!

When I open the device manager and list the devices the
drives are there but have exclamations marks over the
icons and these messages in the properties.

HP DVD Writer 200j
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its
configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete
or damaged. (Code 19)

NEC CD-ROM Drive:282
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its
configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete
or damaged. (Code 19)

Any help getting my drives working, without reloading XP,
will be greatly appreciated.

Attached is the registry file update. Merge it and it'll work 100% fine. I
also had the same problem.
