shutting down

Since having XP installed, the computer won't shut all the way down. it sits on the "Shutting Down Windows" screen until I push the re-boot button, then the power button twice!!!! I'm sure this isn't supposed to happen. I didn't have this problem with Wi
ndows 98. Help!!!!!!!! Somebody!!!!!!!!!!!1
