Program loads and then shuts down in XP

Hi,

I have this program that I keep installing but then when I run it, it loads
and shuts down immediately, and the only thing I see is the icon which
appears for a moment in the task bar. Then it disappears completely. An old
version of the same program works fine, but this new updated version just
doesn't work in my computer with XP. It does work however in a Laptop
computer with XP too... I simply don't understand it.
Any ideas why this can be?

Chances are that the problem has something to do with your video card
drivers and settings.
