I'm working on a PC built a few months ago running Windows
XP Home Edition with SP1. Up until recently, the system
recognized the modem (a US Robotics 56k model 2977). I
tested the modem on a different system and it works fine.
XP will not pull up any drivers whatsoever when manually
selecting under the "Modems" listing, nor will it find any
drivers when set to automatic. Instead it reads "Unable to
find any drivers for this device." System Restore does not
help. If I point the installation to a specific INF file,
it refuses to acknowledge it.
I've searched the web for references to this problem and
have only found a few other instances. Any help would be
appreciated.
