Sound drivers

My sound drivers were corrupted during a power failure.
Now when I turn on my comp, I receive no sound (opening
music for windows xp) I have had to uninstall and
reinstall AOL for the same thing. Can you tell me how to
uninstall my sound driver and reinstall to get it working
properly?
