Dear experts,
After upgrading my machine from 2k to xp, I was dismayed
to find my secondary data drive inaccessible.
Looking in the Disk Manager, I see that the device is
being reported correctly as an ntfs primary partition,
healthy and online. It's previously assigned volume name
is intact.
Hardware manager reports the drive to be functioning
properly, and clicking 'populate' on the 'volume' property
tab shows:
Disk: Disk 1
Type: Basic
Status: Online
Partition Style: Master Boot Record (MBR)
Capacity: 114440 MB
Unallocated space: 0 MB
Reserved Space: 0 MB
I'm guessing there's something slightly (!) wrong with the
partition information or mbr..
Has anyone got any idea as to why this has happened and if
it is repairable? I wish to retain the content of the
drive.
