I cannot figure out how to partition my hard drive. I
have tried the Microsoft Knowledge Database and the
instructions there did not work. The general 'Help' in
Windows itself gave the same instructions, which did not
work. I have Windows XP Pro. Anyone figure out how to
do this?

Unless you have available free space on your system, that is unpartitioned
free space, you cannot create a new partition on the fly, that is, without
losing all data on an partition whose size you wish to change using XP. In
order to do what you appear to want to do, you need third party software
such as Symantec's Partition Magic:
www.powerquest.com.
