Try turning off the XP firewall then see if you can see
the W98 pc. When you are finished with them
communicating turn the firewall back on. To get to the
firewall window, R. click on the LAN icon on the task
bar, click Open Network Connections, then R. Click on the
LAN and click properties, then click Advanced. From
there you can toggle on and off the firewall. Good luck.
