Just yesterday I ran OE to check my email and this error
message popped up:

The instruction at 0x5d3793f5 referenced memory at
0x00000028. The memory could not be "written".

I have tried uninstalling msn messenger, upgrading to the
latest windows messenger, reinstalling the latest msn
messenger, nothing has helped.

I don't think I've installed anything lately that would
cause this problem. It was working fine Sunday and
Monday afternoon this problem started.

Thanks, that seemed to work. Can you elaborate on what
might have been the problem?

Now, I can't use Windows Messenger anymore, or so it
seems, but can I use MSN Messenger or what's the deal now?

Thanks again.

Well, I tried installing MSN Messenger 6.2 and running it
and it worked. The problem now is that when it starts I
keep getting windows opening up that are titled Select a
Contact.

It says "Select the person you would like to use this
feature with, and then click ok."

"Sorry, none of your contacts are online."

"Please try again later."

It is opening two windows at a time every 4 to 5 seconds,
right now it has opened more than 100 of these windows
and I keep clicking cancel yet the windows keep popping
up.
