Word - Create hm a shortcut on his desktop to the word
executable (probably winword.exe) in program files. Right
click the desktop and choose new shortcut. Browse to the
location of the executable and select it. Then name the
shortcut. That may be all there is to it as q quick easy
means of solving the problem.
For the internet question you need to be much more
specific on how you set it up and what account you were
loggedin as when you did it.
There can be several reasons for the antivirus. Is it a
currently registered product. Also often it requires admin
rights to utilize the live update feature. Try logging in
as administrator and seeing if it works.
Why not save his files to disk and then copy them under
you account which seems to have the least problems. OR
create a folder on the c: drive that you both can access
then again just work out of your login.
There are much more technical ways of eliminating these
problems. What I have suggested are simply quick fixes as
I don't have an XP machine in front of me to guide you
through the more technical ways of doing it. Most likely
someone else will post more meaningful comments.
Good luck.
