A few days ago my Internet Explorer starting lagging. I
was told it was due to a problem with the registry and
that creating a new account would fix it. I created a
new administrator account and deleted the old one. It
did fix the Internet Explorer problem but now I have even
more.

I run a Jennifer Garner website and therefore have over
2,500 pictures on my hard drive. After creating the new
account and deleting the old one, I was not able to
access quite a few of these pictures. It says they are
locked. I can't open them, delete them, rename them,
etc. I did not lock these files and they are in a public
folder (however I am the only person that has access to
my computer--even the guest account is turned off). I
need to know how to unlock these files.

Help, please??

It sounds like you need to take ownership of the files. Even though the
folder is "public" with no read restrictions, there may be restrictions on
who can change/edit the files. XP has no idea that you're still you. It just
sees a new user account and is not granting it full access to the files. If
you take ownership, your access to the files will be restored. Search for
"ownership" in Help and Support for more information and directions.
