windows xp install ?

i got a new gateway comp. with it was a disk distributed
for new comps only.it is the home xp program. can my
husband put it on his emachine? he runs windows 98 2e
right now but would like to have same program as me.

No. A resore disk such as the one who have will only work on the exact
computer is was sold with, second you can only install XP on one computer,
you will need to buy another copy.
