I just installed Windows XP Pro and all windows updates available. The
system is not detecting my US Robotics Model 0839 Modem. I emailed
their tech support and they say it should be found automatically. When
I attempt to manually add it thru the Control Panel Phone and Modem
icon, the list of available modems only contains Standard 1200,
Standard 33,600 etc. The hardware is wired correctly and works fine
under Windows 98. I have a multiboot system to verify connectivity. I
also installed it as Standard 33,000 External Modem and the
diagnostics tab showed data from the modem. Any idea how I can get
this modem detected properly?
