Make messenger go away

I had the same problem. I tried everything and the only
thing that worked for me was to go into control
panel<user accounts and choose the account you are
using. Once you select, under "related tasks"
choose "manage my network passwords". Remove the
passport passwords and sign in manually each time you
want to use messenger.
