Free Hard Drive Space

What is the recommended minimum amount of free space that
should be left available on a hard drive? Does this
amount differ whether or not the OS is on the hard drive?

Windows XP will use part of your hard drive for virtual memory. this amoutn
can vary. i would not let you space get below 1GB. This is a personal
thing though.
