I cannot get the fax to work in XP. I have a D-Link
broadband modem however the configuration wizard cannot
seem to locate it. Wizard picks up my internal 52k modem
which is not connected to a phone line.
Can the fax be used in conjunction with a broadband
access/setup?
Regards
Peter

Of course it can't! A broadband 'modem' isn't a modem - it's an external NIC
(Network Interface Connector) to a WAN (Wide Area Network). It cannot
recognise the tone pulses required to send a fax. You will have to connect
your 56K to a phone line - or sign up for a subscription service such as
eFax.

You don't dial a number when you connect to the net, do you? That should be
a huge clue as to the purpose of a DSL connection.

My burglar alarm's connected to my phone line - can I use it to order pizza?
