I installed the Virata VVB PC-attached gateway - Packet
Scheduler Miniport device driver for connectivity to the
USB port on a Great Speed Duo. For some reason, when I
safely remove the hardware from my system (after stopping
the USB device), the driver remains but is hidden and
cannot be uninstalled. The TCP/IP settings can also NOT
be changed since the device is not visible in my LAN
connections. In order to configure the device with my
required IP address, I had to disable the existing device
then reinstall when it found new USB hardware again. For
some reason, the device disappeared again but can be
shown in the Device Manager under the Computer Management
option. When I try to uninstall the previously installed
device, an error message pops up saying that the device
cannot be uninstalled since it is required to boot up the
computer. I now have three such devices that I would
like to remove from my system since possible conflicts
can occur with each having the same IP address.
Currently I have disabled the unwanted devices but I
really would like to have them completely removed from my
system. Tech Support at Great Speed has yet been unable
to give me a solution that works. Can anyone help?
