Thanks for the suggestion. Here's an interesting bit...

When I start in safe mode, the account I am trying to
delete does not appear. But when I start in regular mode,
there it is again, and I still hang up when I try to
delete it.

I am not able to delete the Kazaa program, neither in
safe mode nor in regular mode, as earlier stated.

I hope someone can help with this.

Thanks!

When you start in Safe Mode, only Administrator accounts will show on the
Welcome screen and in Control Panel> User Accounts. In Normal or Safe Mode,
use System Properties> User Profiles to see and remove any account that
isn't showing up in other locations for you. Or use TweakUI for XP to
"display account on welcome screen." That setting should add the account
name into Control Panel> User Accounts as well.

Use Task Manager to end process on any portion of Kazaa, then uninstall.
Consult their technical support for further uninstall info.
