When I turn on the comupter the system says " one of the
disks need to be checked for consistency". Check disk
runs and I receive a message that the size of each
users "/ntuser.data log not valid.

Then the computer finished loading XP and is on the screen
that allow me to select a user name but it freezes the
computer and will not let me do a thing.

My only option is to press the restart button and then the
off button to turn off computer.

Help needed?

Get into Safe Mode with the Administrator account.
(During boot the F8 button usually takes you to boot options where you can
select Safe Mode; in your computer it may vary.)

Then run a search for ntuser.dat on the hard disk where Winxp is installed
(default drive C:)

I would suggest to backup the search result files into a removable medium
first, and then delete them. (Floppy Drive, or CD)

Upon restart XP should replace these files with good ones.

It worked for me once for WinXP(h).
