Cannot connect shared Printer

I have a printer which is being shared and at one time it
was showing connected via a network connection. For some
reason, it will not connect on the network so XP will not
let me delete or connect or do anything with the icon on
the printers screen of control panel. I only want to
delete the icon since it is unneeded but since it will not
connect, I cannot do anything with the icon. the message
I get is "printer not found on server, unable to connect".
With this message I cannot do anything with the icon.
Does anyone know how to delete this icon? Thanks, Dellan
