I have done a clean boot installed all critical updates, updated all
hardware latest drivers. Did a defrag and scan disk. looped madonion's
benchmark test 2001 for 2 hours everything went as planned. rebooted checked
my settings and changed my setting to run my memory at 133 and i got this
error on boot (lsass.exe-system error)(An invalid paramenter was passed to a
service or function)
I changed back the settings and still get the same error. I have also reset
the bios and still same thing. here is my equipment:
Abit KT7A-Raid ver1
Athlon 1.2
256mb crucial 133 c2
64mb visiontek geforce 3
100gig WD 8mb
Win Xp Pro
SB live 5.1 x-gamer
I have 2 sticks of 256mb crucial and 1 generic 256mb pc 133 and I still get
same error.
any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance

Something didn't like the 133 mhz clock speed and probably corrupted some
files. My guess is the generic RAM. Take it out and start again. You can try
a repair install, but you will have to download all the upgrades again,
including SP1. That's why I recommend a clean start.

It does not sound like Crucial ram to me; it's good stuff. Did you try it
without the generic Ram? Crusty is probably right about the generic ram.
Is there a specific order to adding memory (I do not know this board).
Perhaps, you could look over your manual, and see about setting memory to
auto settings, and let the bios figure settings. PCI cards are always
suspect. the SB live. 5.1 x gamer or the video card; check out Abit
mainboard newsgroup(this is the newsgroup I would check first), comp
hardware newsgroups, and the comp home build newsgroup(also AMD ocing
newsgroup); lot of geeks and do it your selfers in those groups. It is
easier if you have another comp to search things out at newsgroups. If this
is a new built comp, pull the sound card and remove the drivers/software;
then reboot. Maybe your FSB setting is too high, or you have a damaged
memory module. Perhaps software conflict is causing it; what was the last
software you installed before this problem happened? Try removing the
generic ram first. When I build I do the "kiss principle"; keep it
simple(minimal to the max); then, slowly add hardware and software. Good
luck.
