May 21st 04, 07:39 PM
Hi. Will you be able to erase from the CD-RW using XP's
built in software? Instead of installing a third party
program like Roxio? Thanks, Craig.

No, that requires packet writing and is not currently supported in XP and it
is not a part of the Service Pack 2 release still in beta.

You can erase the entire contents on a CD-RW, but not individual files or
folders.

Not probable in any upgrade of XP, and certainly not in SP2. Part of
the reason being compatibility with the various interpretations that
have been implemented in the third party programs: Microsoft would not
want to adopt any of them and give it their blessing
