I can't read Chinese on Oultook XP, but I used to be able
to in Outlook 2000 version. I have already activated all
built-in Chinese programmes from XP "languages". Is it a
problem of "encoding" which is built-in in Outlook 2000,
but can't be found in Outlook XP.

thanks
CM

If you have installed the chinese language packs, you should be able to go
to View>Encoding>More and select your chinese language. If you can't figure
it out, go to www.njstar.com and download NJStar Communicator. This program
allows you to read and write in chinese. It is easy to set up.

I can't find "encoding" in this version of Outlook, not
under view or anything else. So can't turn on the
encoding. Why did they change this?

They didn't. Sorry. I thought you were talking about Outlook Express. But
NJStar will fix your problem really quick. Go to www.njstar.com
