Other Microsoft mice with Desktop combo

I'm thinking of buying a Microsoft Wireless Desktop package but want to
continue using my Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer instead of using the
included mouse. Will I need to install both receivers or can I just use the
one included with the Desktop package for both the keyboard and my Wireless
IntelliMouse Explorer?

Officially, it's probably not supported by Microsoft.

However, I'm using the WIME with the Wireless Desktop receiver without
problems. It works quite well here. Of course, YMMV.
