Choppy Sound

Hi, I have a VIA AC'97 intergrated sound. And I'm getting
choppy/erratic sound. I never used to have this problem.
But lately, I keep getting this. I've changed drivers,
updated it, almost everything. I can't seem to find a
solution for this.

I'm using XP, I never had this problem until 3 weeks ago.

Any help?

format, worked for me, or system restore, since ME windows has had a
dramatic increase in problems, sound being one of them. OR look at your
motherboard and if it is dirty that will be causeing interfearance and you
can get a buzzing sound when you move your mouse. this happened to me and i
had to take out my motherboard and wash it in warm sopy water, hang it out
to dry and it was fine, although i do not suggest that many people wash
their own motherboard unless they have a replacement handy.
