Hi

I hope someone can help me, the problem i have is that
when i am running XP, The onboard soundcard is not
detected. However i installed ME and and it detects the
sound card fine.
When in XP and i go into Audio Devices the soundMAX
intergrated digital audio states 'device cannot start'.
I have tried several things including re-installing XP
and trying to update driver, but still no joy.

I hope you can help and look forward to your reply.....

many thanks

I hope you have better luck than I. My Gateway Solo 2150 has a Creative
Labs PCI 64 V - 1938 chipset and will not work with Windows XP. I have been
told by the computer maker (Gateway) that there is no upgrade for this.
Their solution is to uninstall Windows XP and go back to ME which is totally
unacceptable since nothing worked with ME.

Good luck

Hello

Another solution would be to either install a soundcard which
you will have to go out and purchase, and disable the internal
card. But to tell you the truth it's pretty screwd up that Gateway
will give you that kind of answer and now try to hep you resolve
the issue.

Guess in the future you will no longer buy their products.
