I am about to install Win XP Pro.
As re-activation is needed for significant hardware
changes I am trying to find out what a SHC actually is.
Am I going to have to re-activate every time I add
something to my PC/every time I plug in a USB device/
every time I remove one of my removeable drive etc ?

Why not try it.
You are the judge to consider this a minor or major change.

A Sig. Hardware Change is 3 items of hardware changed at once
such as video card, hard disk, sound card, etc. It does not mean
removable devices etc.
