View Full Version : Will MS finally fix the undeletable AVI's in SP2?

Broken AVI
May 22nd 04, 01:14 PM
I haven't tried SP2 beta.

Does it (or will it) fix XP's inability to delete broken
AVI files?

I know there are a half dozen different 3rd party reg key
fixes etc. for it, but it seems to me that after 3 years,
Microsoft should finally get around to fixing this bug.

its isnt a bug its a feature
granted like most of xp's features it was both
unnescessary and unasked for but thats MS for ya
why have a sleek streamlined fast as ligntnin os
when ya can have a bloated, slow and jam packed with
teletubbie eye candy os instead

1) You could have bothered to actually answer his
question instead of complaining. Replies like yours don't
help anybody.

2) Microsoft doesn't put the sp2 newsgroup in the regular
list of Windows XP newsgroups on their web based news
server. And if you'll look at his email address, he, like
many (including myself), did it through the web interface
than through a regular newsgroup reader.

So the 'general' newsgroup was the appropriate one.

He might not have even known there was a sp2 newsgroup.
It's possible his ISP news server doesn't carry. Or that
it didn't exist the last time he looked through the MS
newsgroup list.
