disconnect dialog box

When I want to disconnect from the internet, I do not get
a dialog box asking me if I want to stay connected or
disconnect. How do I get this box?

In IE, Tools>Internet Options>Connections.
Highlight the connection and click Settings.
In Dial-up Settings click Advanced and check the box next to
"Disconnect when Connection may no longer be needed".
