secondary ide drive missing

Having upgraded from me to xp, this has been memorable to
say the least. On my secondary ide, I have a cd/rw and
an iomega internal zip drive. After a few restarts, they
no longer exist. In my bios, they come up as unknown
hardware and during startup, it thinks that my secondary
hard drive 0 and 1 are missing. I only have one hard
disk, so this is hard to understand. I would have to
hate reloading since I had to do that twice already for
unrelated problems.
