Help! It appears that either a hacker or a virus as
erased/ deleted some of my folders with Word and Excel
documents. They are not in my recycle bin and I did a
search for them, the short cut is there, but the file is
not. Is there a software program that can find or restore
them? Does anyone know how I can get my information
back? I know that police and government agencies can
find deleted information so, certainly there is a way???
Thanks
Nicholas

Hey hows it going
If you have antivirus software, update your virus definitions and run a full
system scan on your computer. If you do find a virus, get rid of it
immediatly. This is a shot in the dark, but it might work, run System
Restore, its a great utility that takes like an "Snapshot" of your computer
and information in it and you can go back to the last system restore and
maybe your files will appear where they were.
The way I know how to run System Resore is like this:
1. Open you Help and Support program on the Start Menu
2. Type in "System Restore" without quotaion marks and hit enter
3. Scroll down to the bottom where it says "Run the System Restore Wizard"
4. Follow the Directions from there
Good Luck.
