replaced hard drive

My hard drive failed and had to replace it. How do I
reload the xp home software and get the necessary approval
from microsoft.

If your hard drive failed you do have to do a clean install of Windows XP.
you should not have problems activating it, but if you do you just have to
call the number given in the activation process and get a new code. i takes
about 5 min.

If you had done a backup, you could simply do a restore onto
the new HD, without needing to mess with M$.
