My network is connected to a router but when it says connected and i look to
the support tab of the LAN Connection it always gives me an Invalid Ip
adress (by the Adress type) error.
My Ip is 0.0.0.0 and my MAC address seems also to be invalid
(00-00-00-00-00-00 ).
When i try to REPAIR my ip it gives an error: IP can not be renewed
And then it gives an Automatic Private IP address (something like
169.254.0.1) (by the Adress type) and my MAC address is still
00-00-00-00-00-00.
Is this a software problem or is it a harware problem?
Can someone help me?

Start a command window (start/run/cmd). Type Ipconfig /all. If your
physical address is 00-00-00-00-00-00 then probably your LAN card is
busted or not installed properly.

I think it is a software problem (XP)
I had the exact same problem with my inbuild netcard on my motherboard.
Suddenly my internet connection did not work anymore.
I tried many things, among others removing the netcard. After restart it
came back as Local Area Connection 2 and did not work with the internet, but
worked locally. Another try and I had 3 LAN connections in the registry.
Finally I put an old netcard in the computer, and that works. Until
yeasterday I thought it could be a hardware error but then a friend of mine
called me and described exactly the same problem.
What I would like is to be able to remove any reference to netcards in the
registry, but that is not an easy task????
Kind regards
