On my PC I have loaded Windows XP Pro,the last few days I
have
had a problem with the mouse.Sometimes on boot up
the mouse pointer will not appear. When it does appear
it will not move. Some times by turning off and on the
start up switch it will work for a short period of time.

How do I fix this problem? If some one can send me an
answer I will receive it on my Laptop.

Thanks for the help,

Ed

First thing, be sure that the plug is firmly seated in the PC connector.

2nd, try another mouse - to eliminate it as the cause.

You may need new mouse drivers for XP. Try the manufacturer's website,
or go to http://www.driverguide.com. The universal login is drivers,
password all.

Sometimes it also works to remove the mouse from the device manager
(not the mice setting), reboot and let Windows reinstall it. Control
panel \ system \ hardware \ device manager.
