long time loading

could someone tell me how I might reduce the time it
takes for my computer to load .... i believe it is
loading alot of things that are not needed at startup...
i need my dsl, mcafee and local area connection speed...
i am getting logitech, musicmatch, quicktime and msn
messenger...
