Alright..i hope you bought XP and not downloaded it. Their is no Windows XP
version 4.5, maybe version 2002 or 5.1?

You need to reinstall Works fro your product disc.

You downloaded XP, now you're asking for assistance with pirated software in
a group hosted by the company you're in the process of ripping off...and I
thought we'd had all the moron of the month award winners for August...

I'm sorry, I don't see how pointing out that asking for assistance with
pirated software in a group hosted by the company you're ripping off makes
me a moron...do, please, enlighten me...

You're just generally a moron. You post and don't offer any advice or
criticism. I know you must be lonely sitting at your computer all day just
waiting for the next person to insult b/c they don't know as much about
computers as you might think you do. All you end up doing is driver
business any from Microsoft b/c after you insult people they are scared to
come back when they need help. Find something else to do with the MANY
hours of free time you seem to have.

After reading some of the responses, I'll put in my 5¢ worth.
When you say downloaded, I take it you mean installed, IOW
upgraded Win98 to WinXP. I see the .. so version 4.5 is for
MS Works, not WinXP. Check out this site:
http://www.microsoft.com/products/works/
I may be wrong, but I think you need a newer version, possibly
v6.0 to work with WinXP. Best to always run Compatibility
Advisor before doing an upgrade.

HTH,
Dick

Carefull on how you word things. This group goes nuts over pirated
software. Which is illegal almost anywhere. If I understand right
you must of upgraded from win98 to winxp.
xp must of not copied the works files to winxp system32 folder.
try reinstalling works. It should work.

First. I am against using pirated software.
How can pirated software raise prices or is that just an
excuse Microsoft used so they can make more money?

A pirated program produces no revenues for the company that produced
it. If enough people use the pirated version, revenues decrease
dramatically, forcing the company to jack up prices to cover their
costs.

At least that's the company line
