How could I increase the shell icon cache from Windows XP?

Whenever the icons loads it loads the generic white icons 1st before
it loads real icons.

In windows 98 I could delete the shelliconcache file seems to prevent
it loading from, white icons to the real icons.
It would load directly to Real icons without it appearing white generic
icons 1st before changing to real icons.

Thanks.

Just refresh the icon cache by deleting the IconCache.db file from your
profile directory (usually C:/Documents and Settings/Username/Local
Settings/Application Data). It will be automatically recreated.

XP appears not to retain cached icons over from one boot to the next,
and uses the cache only within a session
